logotile_biomotion

YOUR NEW COMPANY

At Biomotion, we’re building bioprinters that enable reproducible, standardized tissue models for drug screening and regenerative medicine. We’re looking for a versatile developer who thrives at the intersection of software and hardware. If you’ve ever hacked a 3D printer, written custom G-code routines, and also enjoy building clean UIs and backend tools, then this role is for you.
This position is based in Vienna and primarily on-site, offering occasional remote flexibility, as close interaction with our bioprinter and hands-on development are essential to driving innovation.

YOUR NEW TASKS

Device logic: Implement G-code routines and control flows on top of RepRap firmware.
Slicer interaction: Translate user workflows into sliced objects and printing instructions.
User interface: Build touchscreen UIs using TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
Backend tools: Develop internal tools in Python (FastAPI), C# (.NET Core), and SQL.
AI/ML deployment: Help integrate and deploy models
Docker/Linux: Containerize applications and know your way through Linux via CLI

YOUR PROFILE

You’ve worked with 3D printers, either professionally or as a serious hobbyist.
Solid understanding of RepRap firmware, G-code, and hardware/software integration.
Full-stack development skills across frontend, backend, and DevOps.
You’re passionate about AI/ML workloads and know your way around Docker/Linux.
A collaborative mindset and excitement to work in a small, fast-moving team.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, you’ll take the lead in developing the software backbone that drives 3D bioprinting systems. You’ll be deeply involved in shaping technical decisions, testing new approaches, and building innovative solutions that push the boundaries of standardization and automation in bioprinting. Your work will directly contribute to transforming how tissue models are produced and used, accelerating drug development and reducing reliance on animal testing. At the core of our mission is the belief that better biology starts with better tools, and your contributions will help make advanced tissue engineering accessible, scalable, and impactful across the life sciences.
We refer to the collective agreement minimum salary of EUR 2,854 (14x p.a.) for this position. The actual salary depends on your qualification and experience, a willingness to overpay is given.

HOW TO APPLY

Please send an email to jobs@biomotion.tech with your CV and a cover letter detailing your previous work in 3D printing and software development, showcasing how you’d be a great fit for this role.
