What is AI:SPiN?

AI:SPiN is a new acceleration program for AI-related research commercialization. It closes the gap between cutting-edge AI research and startup creation, offering a seamless pathway from a research result to a founded spin-off. The philosophy is simple: learning by doing — execution, iterative feedback, and commitment over theory.

Who is it for?

• Researchers from pre-doc and PhD candidates to senior level with AI research results or technologies.
• Any academic field, as long as AI is a core enabling component, not just a „ChatGPT wrapper.“
• Master students and others with disruptive ideas around AI technology are welcome as occasional exceptions.

When does it start?

AI:SPiN starts with the first orientation phase consisting of an info-session with introduction to the program and 2-3 online meetings at  Oct 27, 2026. The second phase is an on-site bootcamp in Vienna taking place end of November. The third phase including prototype support  will take place in January 2027.
