Our services are aimed at graduates, employees and students at universities and universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulen) in Vienna who want to put their business ideas into practice by starting up a company.

The focus of our organisation is on innovations in the fields of information and communication technology, life sciences and other areas of research and technology.

TU Wien Universität Wien

INiTS was founded as part of the AplusB programme (Academia plus Business) and as the AplusB centre for the Vienna region. AplusB is a programme of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, run by the Austrian Research Support Company (FFG) which provides its services in a very initial phase of the start-up process.  Here it closes a financing gap that previously existed in the Austrian start-up environment.

The nine AplusB centres from Vorarlberg to Vienna focus on a variety of regions and contents. They support company spin-offs from universities, universities of applied sciences and research centres, offering scientists professional support as they turn a good idea into a business.

AplusB centres aim to:
- Permanently increase the number of academic spin-offs in Austria
- Increase the quality and likelihood of success of start-ups
- Develop the potential for company start-ups at universities, universities of applied sciences and other research centres
- Improve the entrepreneurial realisation of research findings and
- Support technology transfer

The success of the AplusB centres shows that these targets can be met. More than 200 start-up projects have been supported since 2002.
